The Perfect Day
The perfect day would be by the ocean in Hawai’i with my family and best friends: palm trees lightly swaying, sand in my toes, and rolling waves coming to life around me. I can feel the soft, cool, refreshing water dancing next to me. Seaweed tangling my feet telling me not to go. My feet are covered in sand, but are soon washed off by the waves and the process starts all over again. A humid mist surrounds me. The sun’s rays shine brightly on my hair making it glow in my reflection. All I can see is a wall of endless blue stretched in every direction, where blue sea would merge into blue sky on the horizon.
My friend Lauren and I race each other to the water slides. I get there first, but Lauren is close so I sit on the edge of the slide and slide away laughing. When the waterslide spits me out into the pool, I land next to the overhead waterfall. Then Lauren is spit out and we decide to go grab a Oreo milkshake.
I take a deep breath and smell the harbor: a salty freshness, a fishy odor, and seafood cooking on the boardwalk. Smelling the seafood makes my stomach grumble with hunger. Lauren and I change our minds and end up eating at Bubba Gump Shrimp Company instead. I order my favorite dish, “The Feast.” “The Feast,” dish comes with grilled shrimp on a stick, cooked lobster, and greatly seasoned shrimp scampi. Lauren orders the same thing I do. For dessert we both order my favorite, “Pineapple Upside-Down Cake.” I look out the window with a full stomach and see the fog passing the ocean telling me, “It’s night.” The day has come to an end and now it’s time to say goodbye to my perfect day.

I’m Talkin’...
I’m talkin’ volleyball
I’m talkin’ digs, hits
I’m talkin’ bump, set, spike
I’m talkin’ overhand, underhand, serves, slides
I’m talkin’ traveling, lunges, ready position
I’m talkin’ court, form
I’m talkin’ volleyball
